Cassandra was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and is the middle child in a family of five girls. She attended Southern Utah University where she completed a Bachelor of Science in the Arts, with a focus in ceramics and three-dimensional design, she also spent a semester at Southern Cross University in New South Wales, Australia. After graduation she had the opportunity to work in the architecture firm Lloyd Architects in Salt Lake City where it was solidified that architecture was the right field for her. Cassandra attended the MArch 3+ program at Washington University in St. Louis where she earned a Master of Architecture degree, and studied abroad in Helsinki, Finland at the Alvar Aalto School of Architecture.
After graduation Cassandra worked in New York City at GreenbergFarrow where she was fortunate enough to learn from some great people and worked on a variety of interesting projects. After living in New York for three years she decided St. Louis was the place she needed to be. Cassandra worked Studio Durham as a job captain on high end residential projects, Killeen Studio Architects as a project architect and most recently Axi:Ome, for three and a half years as a Senior Designer and Project Coordinator. At each firm she learned a different aspect of the architectural practice and has had the opportunity to work with some great and talented people.
Teaching has always been an important goal in Cassandra's career. After returning from New York, she spent some time teaching at Washington University in St. Louis, classes included: undergraduate design studios, graduate level Design Thinking, and a Digital Representation class for students from various majors. Cassandra has also found great joy in teaching and mentoring young architects and interns at previous firms and hopes to make that an integral part of Studio CIC in the future.
Cassandra is active in her church community, runs a weekly tutoring program for kids in the community, and has started a non-profit art architecture and design studio called Studio Ripple. She also enjoys walking and giving belly rubs to Odin, the 110 lb. mastiff mix rescue pup who has the position of Studio Dog.
